PRELIMINARY VIDEO

To create our preliminary task video we had to work together as a group and make many compromises. Things that went well about our video was that it was very fun and energetic, we fastened shots up and used quick cuts to create this impact. Another thing that made our video successful was the characterisation of each of the spice girls, Amy - Scary Spice, Naomi - Ginger Spice, Phoebe - Sporty Spice, Rosie - Posh Spice and the baby doll used for Baby Spice, we done this as a parody feel and to make the audience relate to one of the characters. We didnt want to take the filming to seriously and therefore left the camera rolling while playing tennis or running around, to make sure we had a youthful feel to the video. Overall I feel that our video was a successful preliminary task.

However, we had to change our orginal idea of doing 'Born This Way' - 'Lady Gaga' as a group member didnt want to appear on camera, this again happened with 'Spice Girls' filming and came to an agreement that the group member would film and edit. This is the only real major problem we had when producing our preliminary task. I would also make sure that when we render the video to put onto youtube doesnt put the lip sync out of time with the music as this happened when doing so, this didnt cause much disruption to the video but does look somewhat messy.

This time around I was more confident in front of the camera, as i was nervous during the last project this was a very big confidence boost for me. Despite the bumps in the road I feel like I was well organised with the short amount of time that we had. My editing skills have increased while editing this video as the timing with the song and the lip sync was crucial. By doing this prelim task it has gave me a taste of what is to come in the rest of the course which I am looking forward too.
